1. What is St. John Ambulans Malaysia?
- We are a Non - Governmental Organisation formed in 1908 in Malaysia
- We are internationally recognized charity organisation.


2. What is the Motto of St. John Ambulans Malaysia?
- Pro Utilitate Hominum which stand for: For The Service of Mankind.


3. What is the benefits of being a Member of St. John Ambulans?
- Builds characters (Leadership, teamwork, discipline)
- Learn new skills (First Aid, Management, Communication)
- Meet new friends
- Serve the needy and the Nation


4. How to be a member of St. John Ambulans Malaysia?
- Join first aid classes during Gerko in school, then take the First Aid Exam around June each year.


5. How long is the Validity of the Membership?
- Membership of all members is valid for only 3 years. Therefore, before that we have to take our Re - Examination to renew our membership.


6. How to be an Active Member?
- Attend at least 12 Division Meetings
- Attend Inspections
- Have at least 30 Hours of First Aid Duties each year
- Sit for First Aid Examination every year.


7. What is Grand Prior?
- Cadet’s Highest Award.
- Equivalent to a King’s Scout or Queen’s Guide.
- Members can continue to work towards it until 21th birthday as long as they obtained at least 4 Pro-badges before their 16th birthday.


8. How to get Grand Prior?
- Must collect at least 12 badges including The Knowledge of The Order*
- Must be an Active member.
- Must attend at least 3 State Cadet Camp.
- Must get not more than 3 from each category of the pro-badge in the total of 12 badges.
- Must get at least 4 badge before the age of 16.


9. When is St. John Day?
- 24th June each Year


10. What is Flag Day?
The St. John Flag Day is Annual activity held to appeal donations from the public. It is also held in countries which St. John operates.


11. Is the activity covered from legal aspects?
Yes, St. John Ambulance of Malaysia apples for collection permits from Royal Malaysian Police which allow us to carry out collection under the provision of House to House Collection Ordinance 1947. The collection permit is issued based on year-to-year basis based on evaluation of audited accounts submitted by SJA< after the collections.


12. Where do we use the collection?
The collection is used to fund our voluntary service, youth events and day-to-day operations at the Division, Area, State and National Level. Area and State Headquaters have to submit their accounts audited by chartered accountants after the collection period. The expenses incurred during the collection cannot be more than 1/12 of the total collection amount in compliance to the provision stated under the ordinance.
